Someone can go ahead and steal this idea, but I've been thinking, wouldn't it be nice to have an app that allowed for wage "workers" to automatically log in when they're within their work place? No longer having to get calls asking why you forgot to sign out before leaving No longer having the bo$$ question where you really are Having a reason to be using your phone during work etc Mhm?

It's an idea, but how would it prove the worker was actually in the building, not just clocking in 15 minutes early while they're still in their car?
I suppose it could be used as a contactless data transfer thingy, but that returns us to Square 1 of having to go to a clocking in machine/reader and queuing to physically touch in. Plus now absentees can play the "my phone battery died so I couldn't log in" card.
I think a facial recognition system might eventually be a good productivity tracker... automatically identify the worker as they pass through the door/gates, same as the biometric sign-in on an Xbox One. From that point on track the worker's location all day and automatically calculate how long they're at their desk, how long in the lunch hall, flag up toilet breaks of over 20 minutes, etc. Completely fucking dystopian, of course, but sneak it in piecemeal and it'd eventually become the standard.

Thanks for ruining my dreams haha, I never thought of it like that. Facial seems more doable seeing how far we've brought it. Maybe a finger print scanner embedded into the door frames for when they touch the entrance door?
