Hey everyone,
I'm currently studying business and management at University in the UK. Its getting towards the time where companies will start accepting applications for work experience. I would love to find work experience at a tech start-up in london. I was wondering what I could do to improve my chances of being taken on?

Call up all the companies and ask for a tour, book a tour and meet people. Read up about the company and its top people, and read up about the companies products, so you have things to talk about during the tour and even interview.

This is good advice, but if you want to be thorough you should also look into the market the startup is entering. Think Porter and PESTEL. Nothing fancy, but if you can extract a few key ideas and comment on them during an interview, it will make you look good.
